Cross-chain atomic swaps
from your phone.
BasicSwap Mobile brings the protocol to people who would rather not run a node. It comes built into wallet apps, so there's no blockchain to download and no account to create, and your keys never leave your phone.
Runs on iOS and Android
Coming soon. This is BasicSwap Mobile in the Litecoin Nexus Wallet, the first wallet adding it.
how it works
A swap from your phone.
01
Tap Swap in your wallet
Open a wallet with BasicSwap built in, like the Litecoin Nexus Wallet, and tap Swap.
02
Pick an amount and an offer
Enter what you want to swap, and the wallet finds offers on the shared order book.
03
Let it settle in the background
Both coins lock on their own chains, then the swap completes. It runs in the background, so you can leave the app.
Background services can be less reliable on iOS. On an iPhone, open the app now and then until the swap completes.
what mobile gets you
The same swaps as Desktop, without the setup.
BasicSwap Mobile runs the same swaps as Desktop as a light client, with your keys on your phone and nothing to sync.
Built into your wallet
No separate app and no node. The swap screens live inside a wallet you already use.
Nothing to download or sync
Instead of storing whole blockchains, the light client asks public remote nodes for just the data each swap needs.
Swap wherever you are
Start a swap from anywhere and get on with your day. It carries on in the background until it settles.
Every offer on the network
Take offers from the same order book Desktop makers post to, and pick the best price among them.
Background services can be less reliable on iOS. On an iPhone, open the app now and then until the swap completes.

Apps with BasicSwap built in.
There's no BasicSwap app of its own. Wallets build the open protocol in, and you swap from inside them.

Questions about Mobile.
01Does BasicSwap Mobile hold my keys?
No. Your keys stay on your phone, inside the wallet app, and every swap settles directly on the two blockchains. Nobody in between holds your coins at any point.
02Is there a BasicSwap Mobile app in the App Store or Google Play?
No. BasicSwap Mobile comes built into wallet apps instead of shipping on its own. The first will be the Litecoin Nexus Wallet on iOS and Android.
03Which wallets have BasicSwap Mobile?
None yet. The Litecoin Nexus Wallet will be the first, and Cake Wallet and Particl Marketplace v2 are adding it too. See every app.
04Can I swap Monero with BasicSwap Mobile?
Not yet. The Nexus Wallet, which gets BasicSwap first, doesn't hold Monero, and Cake Wallet, which does, is adding it. Until then, Bitcoin to Monero swaps run on BasicSwap Desktop.
05What are the fees on BasicSwap Mobile?
BasicSwap's protocol charges no fee. You pay the ordinary network fee on each of the two chains, and the wallet app sets any fee of its own.
06Do I need to keep the app open during a BasicSwap Mobile swap?
No. The swap runs as a background service, so you can leave the app or lock your phone while it settles, usually within tens of minutes. Background services can be less reliable on iOS. On an iPhone, open the app now and then until the swap completes.
07What happens if my phone goes offline mid-swap?
Nobody can take your coins. When you're back online, the wallet either completes the swap or, once the timelock passes, takes back what you locked.
08How is BasicSwap Mobile different from BasicSwap Desktop?
Mobile is a light client built into wallet apps, so there's nothing to install or sync. Desktop runs the whole protocol on your own computer with full nodes and adds features like posting your own offers. Compare them.
09Do I need an account or KYC to use BasicSwap Mobile?
No. BasicSwap has no accounts and no identity checks. You swap from your own wallet directly with another trader.
other ways to swap
Not on your phone? Swap from your computer.
BasicSwap Desktop runs every coin and pair on your own computer today. BasicSwap Web will bring the same swaps to a browser tab, with nothing to install, once it launches.
